Worst illness you've ever had

For me, gastritis. Errg! Caused by to much drinking over a long period of time.

anemic dysentary

Shingles, i had to take these huge pills that knocked me out within half an hour, not great when you have plans.

i got pnumonia (sp?) about a week after i was born. i was born jaundiced (sp?) aswell

Perforated duodenal ulcer leading to peritonitis.
I've got a lovely big scar from my sternum to my belly button.
scary it was.

Apart from the obvious, pleurosy AND pneumonia at the same time. Real fucker that is.

not at all, mastoidectomy left ear, they removed the mastoid bone in my ear, to do it they cut above my ear and peeled it back so they can get in the inner ear canal, then when done peel said semi detached ear back into place and stitch. gripping stuff

tonsilitis-like having barbed wire down my throat.
eczema- i had this twice in my life. once i had it so bad behind me knees at age (i think) i had to be pushed round in a pushchair. then again when my parents split up.

Meningitis. Had a lumber puncture which was also the most painful experience of my life due to the doctor accidently touching nerves in my spine.

I've also suffered Migraines all my life, they dont get any easier to live with!

After a chest operation I had some nasty complications;

Collapsed Lung - not nice, spent a week not knowing what was wrong and couldnt even walk up a few steps. Into hospital for a week where a badly fitted chest drain was fitted (a hose coming out your chest/lung to a vacuum which is sucking the fluid away)

Peri-Cardial Effusion/Cardiac Tamponade - The poorly fitted chest drain caused the protective sack around my heart to fill with blood and my heart swelled. At this point I was back at home in horrible pain, I drove myself 1-handed to casualty where they were about to send me home with some painkillers just before I collapsed. Nice. Another week in hospital surrounded by people who'd had heart attacks. They had to put a syringe into the sack around my heart to try and drain the blood but it was allready clotting. Whilst this was done it caused me another;

Collapsed Lung - Another week in hospital. Horrible. Do I win?
