| Dr Manhattan creates it accidently, useless as an application to everyone but those in the textile trade.
Its been a while since I read Watchmen, as Dan is re-reading it maybe he can elaborate?

| Yes. Dr Manhattan creates many curious, er, things, some totally useless and some absolutely beneficial to mankind. The fabric falls into the useless category. | |

| It should of been explained in those scenes. Is there a scene where he tortures a child murderer? | |

| And his dogs? I'm wondering if it plays out like the book? The Dr is showing him ink blot tests and he visualises a butchered dog, then the scene evolves. | |

To an extent. Showed the doctor showing him the ink blot tests. Was a good fil though a couple of places were a bit drawn out. Definitely worth the watch though. I went at 11.30 last night! Ha! May go again in a week or so.

| The scenes with the doctor are all squashed into one. So they had to cut stuff out. Like the fact that after Young Walter goes apeshit with the 2 buys, he gets put in a home and when he's old enough they get him a job in the textiles industry. A lady orders a dress made from the black and white moving material, but then she doesn't want it. Walter takes it home and find that by using heated scissors he can cut it and reseal it simultaneusly from that he creates his mask.
Thought the film was ace and very faithful, they just had to cut it down to fit it all in to just shy of 3 hours.

| I saw it last night. Really enjoyed it. I thought it did the Novel justice. I have read quite a lot of reviews etc and it seems the only downfall this film has is that it really does make the film better if you read the book. The person I went with had soooo many questions.
JUST READ IT!!!!! | |

| I've just been to watch it, enjoyed it, was maybe a bit too lengthy to hold my attention but that could have somethin to do with me being shattered and was working all day. I felt however even though it was a bit long there isnt really anything in there thats surplus to requirement.
Possibly not worth all of the hype that has surrounded it.
