Watch the special features of BTTF and they say they do properly exist. Not QUITE as good as portrayed in the film but you can get them. Cost a bomb though.

No, he'sright. They were featured at the closing ceremony to the 2000 Sydney olympics. They're basically portable one man hovercraft. About the size of segway,only perfectly round at the base. Heard they're noisy too.

you could try and make one yourself, an old skateboard some sticky back plastic and a couple of hairdryers should do it - and test it on the river Anker which runs at the back of the Sound Foundry
