I don't think think that anybody who watches Doctor Who thinks the dialogue is flawless, the acting sublime and the plots watertight. We know its full of plot holes, that the dialogue is often vomit-inducingly cheesy and the acting is very, well, over-acted. But it doesn't make it any less fun. The stories are, quite literally, fantastic - they are science-fantasy.

Heroes and Battlestar Galactica are both sci-fi and they are ludicrously good (although Battlestar still has cheesy dialogue).

And fuck Lost. I'm sure its great, pretty much certain in fact, given the reviews it gets - but fuck it anyways!

I'm guessing you only watched the first seasons considering waaaaaaay wierder stuff than that happen.

It is set for 6 seasons, the answers will all be revealed just be patient with it, you don't watch a film and halfway through decide its stupid because something wasn't explained to you yet.

Because its extremely well written with great plots, sub plots and a mass of characters who are well developed and brilliantly acted.

It also has an extreme amount of twists and turns and great suprise moments.
