| We moved in 4 years ago exactly and pretty much went down to the council house straight away to complete forms for Council Tax. 6 months later we got our bill, and they wanted 12 months Tax over 5 months, I compained and they were gracious enough spread it out over the extra month we don't have to pay council tax normally, so instead of screwing me with a water melon, it felt more like an oversized baseball bat. | |

| I'm afraid you HAVE been sodomised mate and there's no cure for the hatred.
I suggest you nurture it, develop it.
Then get on the phone and complain about every one of the 22,000 potholes in yours and everyone else's road, or the fact that the police never do anything when you need them etc etc etc etc etc
But if you want to be buttshagged on a monumental scale, try business rates - the several thousands of pounds you pay each year gives you ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in return except for some anally retentive council bitch talking to you like a criminal if you're late with a payment.
DON'T get me started!!! | |

| its just one of those shitty things you've gotta deal with as you start doing grown up things, on the plus side it feels great on those couple of months you don't have to pay it, though thats a bit of a clutching at straws way of finding something good about it | |

| A few months back we missed our payment by two days. We were completely skint. We then got a letter saying how we now had to pay the whole of the bill in one go for this error. I phoned up to plead our case. 'You got the money two days late. It's been paid now. If we are broke enough to be late with a payment how do you think we're gonna find the whole rest of the yearly bill???? [it was hundreds of pounds]. The young minx on the phone didn't give a stuff. 'It's the rules'. apparently. Just where is the common sense in all this? We almost had to ask the kids to bail us out! How fucking sad is that? We resorted to our pathetic 'life savings' ,and it cleaned us out. Bastards. No holiday at all this year, we can't even afford to go to Wales for a week. | |
