| We still going with 4 - 4 - 2 to keep it nice and simple for the first game and to plug the gaps left by Gary and someone else?
Thoughts? | |

| Does Dady play centreback then? If so fine, I was just under the impression that Dave and Lee were the two cb's, and was quite comfortable to have that in front of me. Other than that, cool beans. | |

| Yeah I'm happy playing centre back. Played there last couple of seasons. If you want or have been training with two other centre backs I don't mind, I know I haven't been training and don't want to mess things up for you Dan. | |

| No it's alright Dave hasn't been training anyway, just what I was told before seeing this. But it's cool with me, you training sunday? Some attack v defence drills with the actual formation would be useful | |

| Should we move practise to our home ground? apparently the pitches are a bit different so would be good to get a playing heads up | |

| Is it REALLY going to make much of a difference to us? Just think when we play away (at the Memorial park) we'll be fab on their pitches, that'll fox em! | |

| I think this would be more effective, the 2 wingers getting forward and tracking the full backs if they get forward, 2 more defensive centre midfielders and then i can drop back if need be but also being up supporting Sean | |

| Bless you Wayne you put me in the team. Funny enough, my gammy old leg has felt an improvement today. Hope to be match fit by the game | |

| After practice though we sorta came to the conclusion that we should have two up front.
1)Because Matt prefers it.
2) Cause Sean's only little.
Problem then obviously is left wing which Peej said he wouldn't mind doing. I also wouldn't mind playing on the left wing (my preference, actually) but then there's no one to cover left back.
Basically, we need another lefty.

| Well i didnt think Peej was actually playing so was a bit puzzled why he was in the other team. I just think its better having Sean as the main striker and then you've got basically 3 playing off him to support the attacks but also drop back when needed | |

| Lot of people say we need a manger, but not a lot of people are looking for one. I've racked my brains and only person I know who knows football enough is ex city player, emmerson (from 80's) but short to zero chance getting him.
Anyway back to formation, I think if (and it's a big if) I feel old gammy leg is ok to play, I think I should start, because if it's not I can go off rather than come on as a sub, get it fucked then go off again. Waste of sub, but like I said, big if

| Why not move Matty (a 'lefty') to the left wing and have peej play on the right then? I think we need two up front personally, if we're getting spanked in midfield the temptation will be to employ aidy hoofroyd style tactics and toe it up to sean who has no chance of holding it up against the kinds of centre backs I imagine we'll be playing. Someone bring some pen and paper on sunday so we can sort this out BEFORE we begin practice, so we can do drills based around the formation (att v def, etc).
Forgot you weren't there sunday wayne, the formation got fiddled and peej volunteered for right wing

Why not this but you play as the second striker wayne? Purely for simplicity purposes, first game and all that, nice simple 4-4-2 and our left wing would actually be manned by two lefties, far too early to be looking at employing asley young-esque tactics on the wing

| Fine by me, I'm not fit enough to play centre mid yet & I've played upfront for years so happily do that | |
