King Hermit At The Fluer

Just got to say, you guys were fantastic last night.
The crowd at the Fluer love you.
Really well done.

It was a top gig! When I got there I thought that you could either clear the place or go down a storm, fortunately it was the latter, well played lads it was loads of fun

I wouldn't know whether to take that comment as a compliment or not boys?!

it was an 'interesting' mix of people in there, not your usual gig going crowd, but they lapped it up!

Daz, Dan and their team did a brilliant job yesterday despite the terrible weather.

Along with a lot of the locals, they wore fancy dress and really made an occasion of it.
I overheard one woman saying she couldn't wait to get her husband home and out of his dress.


The bands throughout the day were all well received by the crowd, but King Hermit went down a storm.

For me, King Hermit were the headline of the whole event - there had been loads of bands on but it wasn't until KH stepped up that everyone really started getting into it - blew the place wide open.

The lads were totally on fire last night and it just shows that if you can get an almost exclusively 'non-gig-going' crowd whipped up with your own music, you're onto a winner.

Funniest part of the day for me was Treacletown, a rhythm and blues 3 piece. Good band - don't get me wrong. But Daz has his smoke machines built in behind the boards at the back of the drummer and when I pressed the button to bring out a little smoke, it came out from behind the bass amp and the bassist shit himself and ran away from the amp shouting "We're on fire!!" They all stopped mid song, shouting "we're on fire over here"

Fortunately, they saw the funny side once I'd explained.

Cheers guys, was a good gig last night and we enjoyed it, still can go better i reckon, i got a real good feeling about this Fridays gig in London.

Thanks to the people who came down and watched us, felt slightly bad for Charlies Company playing after us, i think the energy was drained by then.

Has to be said you were a hard act to follow.
Charlie company did a great job of getting more money into the buckets by hosting the leg waxing ect...
and they got their singer a blow up man for his birthday called Roger Moore.

Cheers guys. Just hope we can get energetic crowd like that for London cause it helps us out loads.
