Inception -10/10
Brilliant, loved the ending and how much it really keeps you thinking for two and a half hours, it flew by.
Christopher Nolan can do no wrong, him and Pixar.

Yeah I loved it too. Thought it was miles better than TV series, mind you I never really liked the tv series.

Avatar - glorious looking film, gutted I didn't see it in 3D, the story was a bit lame like, but for conjuring up such an amazing fantasy world I'll give it a generous 9/10
Benjamin Button - Very suprised to say that I really enjoyed this, it had the potential to be a barrel of shite but it was done really well 8/10
Gommorah - Italian film about the mafia in modern Naples, had the potential to be brilliant and was shot beautifully, unfortunately the story was really weak and none of the different strands pulled together very well so a 6/10 just because it looked nice

Toy Story 3(D) Rad out of 10.
Pixar knocks it out of the park again, 3D was good too, very subtle.

Yeah I rated it quite highly a few posts back. I'd say 9/10 for Platoon.

Inception 8/10 I think my expectations were too high for this. I thought the story, script and concept was awesome and the acting was really good, but, the structure sort of felt like one of those heist movies. It had that same feel as something like Oceans 11, you know? Get a team together with different experts etc then slowly reveal the plot/heist as the film progresses so we dont know what is coming until the end. I think this could have been Di Caprios film but there were too many other biggish names involved too so it felt more like an ensemble. I was expecting a similar wow like the time you first saw Matrix etc but I didnt get that. Definately worth seeing though.
Girl with the Dragon Tattoo 8/10

Watched The Battle Of Britain the other night..... classic! 10/10
Stunning aerial photography and the whole thing seemed to capture the mood of the exceptionally desparate situation we were in, while at the same time maintaining a kind of realistic 'normality'.
A British film too..... thank fuck - if Hollywood had made it, the incompetent and dastardly English would have totally fluffed it by taking tea and cucumber sandwiches along with a nice game of croquet, while the Americans were heroically engaged in a 'to-the-death' struggle with both the Luftwaffe and giant ants from Venus, who would only be defeated when the President of the United States had personally flown into outer space in a rocket propelled Cadillac and sneezed all over the ants mother ship, which would then (as calculated by boffins from NASA) fall to earth and destroy Germany, thus ending the war and saving the world from certain destruction.

Agree, Great aerial battle scenes with hundereds of planes and not one bit of CGI
Also a great cast and even greater score.
Wouldn't say it was totally a British film. It was produced by Harry Saltzman (same guy who co produced early Bond) a Canadian funded by a American company and directed by Guy Hamilton a frenchy. A fuck it heres a clip for the clueless.

Incredible.
I love the way the whole climax is played out to music rather than bullets and explosions - the impact is far greater. And there's no gung-ho heroics either - all the characters throughout are just 'ordinary' people doing what they had to do.
I think the biggest plus about this film for me is that it still holds up as a great piece of cinema 40 years on, and is a pretty fair representation of the actual history itself. Hollywood doesn't do 'history' and I think the fact that this is (largely) a Brit film gives it such credibility.
