U2 album....

Anyone get a leaked copy? I know someone that did.... their first single was shit!! but the abum sounds great and return to the U2 sound for me.

i'm glad i'm not the only one that doesn't like them, they're just old men now trying to cling onto their fame.

i know it doesn't always matter about lyrics, but from watching them last night, their lyrics were shockingly bad, i could do better.

Early U2 were excellent - raw, gritty and relevant, but then Saint Bono had that operation to have himself surgically implanted up his own rectum and I think they just thought everyone would love any old shite they put out. Hence, I lost interest in them a long time ago.

I've never liked them. I just find them incredibly boring. What was funny about the Brits performance was watching the 'Ledge' Edge forget to press his distortion on at the right time. You'd think he'd get the hang of it by now. Its either Delay or distortion, he dont have much to do! Big intro to the Brits? Shyte.

Actually I think you'll find the edge's pedal board is a gigantic midi interface

Caroline, you can't seriously say they're 'hanging on to their fame', they've made consistently brilliant music from day one and still continue to do so, reinventing themselves for each album. Lets compare that to Bon Jovi who have released the same album for 20 years.

I'd love to know what U2 material is 'any old shite' John, even their worst album Zooropa could easily be someone else's best...

The difference between a band like U2 and a band like, for instance Bon Jovi is that, where as U2 do play their big songs, loads of their set is new material, so it's a completely different experience each time you see them. No to mention their REVOLUTIONARY stage shows which bands like Muse have U2 to thank for. Their last tour was like a scaled down version of Popmart.

If you haven't heard 80%-90% of U2's material then, in my humble opinion, your opinion is void!!
