OK im fed up with cover bands earning around a grand per gig and original music getting paid diddly squat.

No word of a lie jammed with a u2 covers band the other week, great musicians, singer couldnt cut it though.

After covers work because me and the mrs taking the step of moving in together so need a second job, would much rather earn money playing then take a bar job or something.

I can#t play an instrument, but I do a fucking good impression of Richard Cheese.. FYI he's the guy who did the cover of down with the sickness for the new dawn od the dead movie. Funny guy.

I can also do a not terrible Tom Jones and a passable cab calloway.

I'm in a covers band and I can tell you that the money isn't anywhere near what Corky said - we're lucky if we hit £900 a time

Seriously, these days the general fee is averaging about £300, but weddings and corporate shindigs are where the real money is.

I'd be up for it, I already do it a bit. There is more money in a trbute band. Social clubs etc pay shit money but as john said there is more money in weddings etc. I know Paul swain who used to be in Akeal is looking for covers band.

We have a band in at our rehearsal rooms at this very moment, who up until today only practiced their own stuff.
They have just launched into a full-on Razerlight tribute.
